Meet Dr. Olsen
Dr. John A. Olsen, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, has been in private practice in Los Angeles since 1972. He is currently on staff at Century City Hospital and Centinela Valley Community Hospital. Dr. Olsen has been the Plastic Surgery Consultant for the National Athletic Health Institute and the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, and Kings since 1977 and for the Professional Golfers Association since 1989. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is active in the following societies: American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, California Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Lipoplasty Society of North America. After obtaining his M.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine, Dr. Olsen completed his internship and surgical residency at the Latter Day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, with additional plastic surgery training as a registrar (fellow) for six months at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow, Scotland where he worked with world renowned plastic surgeons.
Dr. Olsen does most of his surgery in his Century Park East Surgicenter immediately adjacent to his office. This surgicenter is certified and inspected biannually by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilites.
